The “Evolution of the Grid” event, the first in the Smart Grid World Forum series, will take place in Brussels on 2-3 December 2010.

The historic Hotel Metropole serves as the venue. More than a century of excellence and world-class service await you at the Hotel Metropole. As the city’s only 19th-century hotel still in operation, we’ve furnished Brussels luxury hotel accommodations for refined travellers since 1895. Discover a stunning celebration of French Renaissance style and architecture - where the splendour and dignity of the past blend with modern luxury. Enjoy evening strolls to "de grote Markt" or Grand Place - one of the most beautiful town squares in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Savor the tantalising cuisine of our gourmet restaurant L’Alban Chambon. Dazzle corporate guests in the state-of-the-art Metropole Executive Center. . . an impressive network of stately venues and lounges. The hotel offers a graceful combination of tradition and elegance, in a truly historic setting:

  • Situated in the heart of downtown Brussels’ city centre, just steps from world-class shopping, attractions, and nightlife
  • A short walk to Grand Place, the Royal Theatre de la Monnaie, and the Bourse (Stock Exchange)
  • Only 12 kilometers from Brussels Airport (BRU)
  • Hotel Metropole was home to the first Solvay conference in 1911, the world’s first Physics conference (Solvay Institute).
